This page is for you — the end customer, not for the company you message. You can request deletion of your data directly from us and receive a receipt with a reference number as soon as you submit.

1What exactly gets deleted
Deletion is not a wipe from one screen. When the request completes you receive a closure receipt enumerating the three classes of store individually, and the closure fails if any one of them is missing:

This includes what reached us from the WhatsApp channel: your number, your profile display name, your message texts and their media, and the delivery and read receipts. What we receive from the WhatsApp Business Platform is itemised in the Privacy Policy, clause 3.
Your own copy of the conversation inside the WhatsApp app on your phone, and whatever Meta retains in its own capacity, sit outside our systems and we cannot erase them. To have those removed, contact WhatsApp directly.
2What is not deleted — and why we say so plainly
- The compliance log is anonymised, not deleted. It is the record proving that a block occurred and that your consent was recorded or withdrawn. Your personal fields are erased from it and the trace remains without identity, because a record that can be deleted is no evidence at all — neither for us nor for you.
- The opt-out record stays. If it were deleted our messages would resume. It remains as a fingerprint that cannot rebuild your identity, and its only function is to prevent you being messaged again.
- Whatever must be retained by law (accounting documents, for instance) — to its extent and for its period only.
